Time has come for Kollywood to get one more woman director. For, Vijayalakshmi, the ‘Chennai 6000028’ and ‘Anjathey’ girl, has revealed her plans to become a filmmaker in the future.“I will soon join the team of a director and will assist him. After gaining experience as an assistant director (AD), I will sure direct a film. Because making movies is my ambition,” she says.
Direction dream should be natural for Vijayalakshmi since her father Agathiyan is a national award winning filmmaker and her sister’s husband is Thiru, who gave us the Vishal-starrer ‘Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai’.
The outspoken actress, who is Superstar Rajinikanth’s heroine in ‘Hara’, adds: “After Katradhu Kalavu, I have not come across any promising projects. Talks are on for a Telugu film and Tamil movie now.”
